Emma Noraian is named new Regent

Emma Noraian was elected as Theta Tau’s new Regent for the spring 2021 semester. In true COVID-19 fashion, she was elected over Zoom and with unanimous support from our brothers.

Meet Emma

Emma Noraian is a junior from Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. She is double majoring in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Environmental Studies. Emma has been a part of Theta Tau since she rushed during the spring semester of her freshman year.

Why Theta Tau?

Emma rushed Theta Tau because she was looking for an organization to help her gain professional skills and wanted to build a network of successful and fun engineers. “I think Theta Tau brings out the best in people, creating smart and successful engineers who are communicative leaders inside and outside of the classroom,” Emma wrote.

Emma’s Impact on Theta Tau

Emma has always been an active member of Theta Tau and consistently uses her talents to serve our chapter. Emma was the Fundraising Chair in fall 2019, where she led the effort to raise over $3000 for the fraternity. In spring and fall of 2020, Emma was the chapter’s Vice Regent. Emma ran for Regent because she has thoroughly enjoyed her time with Theta Tau and wants new members to have the same positive experiences.

Looking Forward

While many classes remain virtual and in-person gatherings are limited, Emma is looking to make the best of a challenging situation. Her goals for the semester are having strong recruitment and creating an enjoyable semester for the members. “I am excited to welcome a new group of quality pledges into our fraternity and grow our fraternity to the best of my ability,” Emma said. Emma mentioned that while it may be difficult to create unity without the usual number of in-person events, she is excited to lead the fraternity in this unique time.

Congratulations and good luck, Emma!
