Arik Sargeant

- Year and Major: Sophomore in Computer Engineering
- Hometown: Appleton, Wisconsin
- Why did you choose your major? Ever since I can remember I have been interested in technology, and what makes electronics work, whether it be hardware components or software components. Computer Engineering allows me to study both hardware and software (and the stage in between) aspects of computer devices, which will hopefully let me enter research on quantum computing and embedded systems.
- Favorite part about UW-Madison? The opportunities. At least from what I have seen, there seems to be something for everybody. I have befriended great people here, participated in clubs/intramural sports, got my dream job on campus (let’s go Design Innovation Lab), and am looking forward to capitalizing on more opportunities as I find them.
- One thing you are most looking forward to in Theta Tau? Professional development. I am excited to get no risk interview practice so that when the real thing happens, I know I am prepared.

- Why did you choose your major? In High School I was interested in the medical field and engineering field so I figured I would combine my two interests and major in Biomedical Engineering.

- Why did you choose your major? I wanted a major that involved both innovation and chemistry and I also wanted to be able to work in a variety of fields that can all directly make real impact; Chemical Engineering checked all the boxes.

- Why did you choose your major? I am really fascinated by all of the applications of Nuclear Engineering and how up and coming the field is. I am also passionate about clean energy so I am especially interested in working with fusion in the future.
