With summer coming to a close there is no better way to relax than a good few lake days. Our brothers did just that this past weekend near Waupaca Wisconsin where we continued a new Xi chapter tradition of a yearly retreat. Possibly the best way to end the summer and relax with brothers as much as possible before the busy semester begins. The getaway was full of lots of brotherhood bonding, lake activities, and of course professional development.
Right on the lake, this cabin gave our brothers the opportunity to do some paddle boarding, kayaking and a few groups even swam across the lake. One fun activity some people got involved in was dock workouts like yoga led by our very own Liza Robinson. Professional development was also a huge focus for the brothers. An example of this was the etiquette lunch where the intricacies of a professional restaurant setting were explored. How to dress, sit, eat, talk and use your silverware were all topics that were deeply discussed. Followed by an in depth questionnaire, all of the brothers left well educated on the subject.
Brotherhood also took a form in cooperative events like preparing meals together and long talks around the fire. Almost every dinner was prepped, made, cleaned up and most importantly, enjoyed, together. Ending each night around the fire also gave brothers the opportunity to get to know each other much better as well as discuss intentions with the fraternity for the upcoming semester. With many important topics covered, these chats were very beneficial and productive for Theta Tau.
