The new semester is underway and the rush process for Theta Tau Xi Chapter has already begun! Each semester, a new rush chair takes the responsibility to organize and plan events for potential new members to get to know current members and learn more about the fraternity. This semester’s rush chair is Abby Rahn, a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering. Abby says, “I’m super pumped to get to know lots of potential new members, teach them all there is to know about the frat, and find some high quality people to invite into the brotherhood!” We can’t wait to see what Abby’s work as rush chair brings us!
Engineering Bash
To kick off the rush process, Theta Tau had a table at the Engineering Bash on September 4th to recruit potential new members. The brothers had a very successful evening getting the word out about Theta Tau on Tuesday with over one hundred people interested in the fraternity.
Pizza & Chill
Xi Chapter continued to get to know the potential new members on September 7th for a “Pizza & Chill” night at the house. On Friday, over thirty “PNMs” showed up interested in Theta Tau and spent the evening learning more about the fraternity and eating pizza. We even got out the cornhole boards the pledge class from last spring made for their pledge project. Both current members and potential new ones enjoyed the cornhole game throughout the evening!
Info Session & Food Friday
On Friday September 14th, the members held an information session for the potential new members to learn more about the fraternity and ask any questions they may have. After the info session, the group walked to Lucky apartments for a Food Friday hosted in the courtyard by a couple members that live there. The members grilled some food and enjoyed getting to know more of the PNMs.
The applications for the potential new members to rush went out soon after Food Friday and are due this week! We can’t wait to see all the amazing engineers who are eager to be a part of Theta Tau Xi Chapter! Thanks for all the great work as rush chair Abby!
