We are aware of the video that was released showing members of the Theta Tau chapter at Syracuse University. Theta Tau has a no tolerance policy for this troubling and offensive behavior, and the actions of these individuals are truly disgraceful. We are a professional and diverse fraternity that welcomes members of all backgrounds. The content of the video is unacceptable and directly violates the values and expectations that have been put in place for all of our chapters.
Please do note that Xi Chapter, based out of Wisconsin, does not have any direct involvement with what happened in New York. That said, we hope that Syracuse University and the National chapter will find appropriate ways of holding the individuals who were responsible for the video accountable.
We are currently taking actions to help make sure that this behavior is not replicated in our chapter. In an effort to promote diversity several members have already attended a diversity workshop put on by the School of Engineering before these events transpired. We are currently looking into diversity and inclusion workshops for all members, and hope to schedule another workshop soon.
Please direct any questions regarding the New York incident to our central office central.office@thetatau.org.
Any questions involving Xi Chapter directly can be handled through our Contact page.
