One of the most exciting parts about a new semester is the rush process! This spring semester we had nearly 20 engineering and computer science majors rush Theta Tau Xi. The rush process is planned and organized each semester by the Rush chair. This semester’s rush chair is Alex Bilkey. Alex spent the beginning of this semester planning rush events for potential new members to attend.
Student Org Fair & Info Session
We kicked off the spring rush season at the Student Organization Fair on February 7th at the Kohl Center. A few of our members set up a booth at the Org Fair with a poster about Theta Tau Xi Chapter and encouraged students to rush. Following the Student Organization Fair, Alex Bilkey and other members held an information session on February 8th for interested students. Alex spoke to potential new members about Theta Tau Xi Chapter in detail and explained the rush process and what life is like being a member.
Food Friday
The spring rush festivities continued Friday, February 9th when the chapter hosted Food Friday at the Theta Tau house. Member Sarah Helm cooked spaghetti and garlic bread with the help of a couple other members while Brotherhood chair Jasmine Shah oversaw the event. Over 50 people came to Food Friday, including both members and students interested in the fraternity.
Study Tables
Another opportunity for potential new members (PNM’s) to learn more about Theta Tau and meet members is the weekly study table. Study tables give members a chance to study together and help each other with homework. The study tables are held weekly on Wednesday evenings this semester by the Academic chair, Sam Hietpas. On February 14th, potential new members attended study tables with the fraternity to work on homework and get to know current members.
